Is KCR looking for another safer assembly constituency? It appears so. If the buzz within the TRS circles is any indication, the TRS boss is now thinking of contesting from Medchal constituency in addition to Gajwel. In the last elections, Congress candidate Narsireddy defected to the TRS in the last minute. Due to this KCR could scrape through with a margin of 16000 votes over Vanteru Pratap Reddy. But, this time around, Narsireddy has left the TRS to join the Congress. Several MPPs and ZPTCs are unhappy and though they are still in the TRS, they are not wholeheartedly campaigning for the TRS. Already there is lot of discontent among the voters of Gajwel over lack of development in the constituency. There is a complaint that only the areas in and around Errabelli, where KCR's farm house is located, there is some development. Even in Errabelli, the locals are unhappy about the traffic restrictions due to VIP movement in the area.

KCR, who knows all these,  has realized that Gajwel may not be a cakewalk. So, he might contest from Medchal, which is next to Gajwel. This enables him to tour both the constituencies easily. The TRS sources argue that contesting from two seats should not be seen as a weakness. "Even NTR has contested from three seats. What about Narendra Modi? Did he not contest from both Varanasi and Rajkot in 2014?" asked a TRS leader.
