IT and Industries Minister on Sunday made light of the Congress in the State, saying there were about 40 Congress leaders in the race for the Chief Minister’s post.Terming the Congress-TDP alliance as unethical, KTR, speaking at a TRS party workers meeting in Mustabad mandal, reiterated that while the TDP had no leaders, Congress lacked cadre in Telangana. Stating that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu was trying to make an entry into Telangana by dumping Rs 500 crore in the election, the Minister said people must decide whether they want to be slaves to Delhi or see roses in Telangana.

Terming the six-decade rule by the two parties in undivided Andhra Pradesh as rank bad, KTR asked the people to compare that with the four-year tenure of the TRS government and decide which was better. “Problems will crop up in power supply if Congress is voted to power since they will supply electricity only for six hours,” he said, adding that the State government under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had introduced a number of welfare and development schemes for the welfare of all sections of the society.

“It is the only State in the entire country which introduced novel schemes like Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bhima, 24 hours power supply, among others,” he said. Farmers having even a gunta of land were provided farmers insurance cover, he added.

While only 20 residential schools were established in 67 years, 800 Gurukulam schools were set up within four years after TRS came to power in the State, he said, adding that 43 lakh people were getting pension at a cost of Rs 5,600 crore. The government was considering enhancing the pension amount, he said.
