Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has directed the officials to ensure distribution of Rythu Bandhu cheques and Pattadar passbooks to all eligible farmers by June 2.

Though there was overall positive response to the scheme and a hard work was done by the officials, at some places for some reason or the other as well as non-linkage of Aadhar card in the case of some farmers, cheques and passbooks could not be distributed.“It may be also a fact that few of the revenue officials were irresponsible to some extent. It is also come to the notice of the government that at some places, may be negligible, the rectification of land records was not properly handled,” the Chief Minister said at a review meeting with Ministers, Collectors and senior officials.

“At a time when the government has been doing a lot for the benefit of farmers with great commitment, it is unfortunate that some of officials are unable to discharge their duties in tune with the requirement. It is high time that they change and jump into the action on war footing,” he said. The Chief Minister said that every eligible farmer should get the pattadar passbook and cheque and by the time the new registration policy comes into effect on June 2 this year every farmer should possess the new pattadar passbook and all the land records should be updated,” the CM instructed.

The CM said the Rythu Bandhu scheme had received applause from across the country and also made the farmers happy that their land details and holdings have been rectified and updated without spending a single rupee. He wanted that those farmers who failed to attend the distribution programme when it was scheduled in their villages may obtain their passbooks and cheques from the concerned Tahsildar office.
