Haj pilgrims attend orientation camp

Hyderabad: The first Haj orientation camp for pilgrims bound for Haj 2018 was held on Sunday at Hi-tech Garden Function Hall in Old Malakpet. Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali inaugurated the camp.

At the event, Islamic scholars — Moulana Abdul Rasheed Talha Nomani and Moulana Abbas Zaki explained the  rituals and the significance of the pilgrimage.

The Deputy Chief Minister, Telangana, said that the state government had sanctioned a budget of  Rs 3 crore for the Haj committee. 

Professor S.A. Shukoor, executive officer,  Telangana State Haj Committee, welcomed the gathering and he said that the pilgrims should show patience and resilience during Haj. He said, “This year, out of a total Haj Quota of 1.25 lakh for the country, TS was allotted a quota of 4,066.”
